DOING ECO (Henan DOING) has upgraded its fully automatic solar panel recycling machine with a six-axis intelligent robotic feeding system. Introduced in its fourth-generation equipment in 2026, the upgrade is designed to handle unevenly stacked or inconsistently positioned solar panels while reducing manual work at the feeding stage.
Six-axis intelligent robotic feeding for solar panel recycling
In solar panel recycling, incoming modules may be stacked unevenly or placed at different angles. The conventional frame-type automatic feeder uses fixed pickup positions, so solar panels need to be stacked neatly to support reliable feeding.
To address this challenge, DOING ECO upgraded the feeding system with a six-axis robotic arm and a vision system, improving its ability to handle variations in panel positioning.
The intelligent robotic feeding system combines vision-based positioning with adjustable robotic movement.
Intelligent robotic feeding system advantages
Vision-based positioning: The system identifies solar panel positions and orientations before pickup.
Multi-angle adjustment: The six-axis arm adjusts its joints and suction-cup angle to match the panel surface.
Automatic pickup and transfer: The robotic arm lifts the panel using suction cups and transfers it to the recycling line.
Greater adaptability: The system can handle slightly tilted or unevenly stacked PV panels, reducing the need for precise manual alignment.
Reduced manual handling: The robotic arm automatically picks up and transfers panels to the recycling line, reducing manual lifting, moving and repositioning at the feeding stage.
These improvements make automatic feeding more adaptable to variable incoming-panel conditions while reducing manual intervention during loading.
The robotic feeding system works with downstream stages including junction-box removal, aluminum-frame removal, glass removal, strip cutting, shredding, crushing, screening, air separation and electrostatic separation.
Fully automatic solar panel recycling machine
By automating solar panel pickup and transfer, the upgraded feeding system helps reduce manual material handling and supports a more automated solar panel recycling workflow. The processing capacity is 1-1.2 tons per hour, consistent with the third-generation frame-type feeding line.
The main improvement is greater flexibility in panel loading and reduced manual handling, rather than a claimed increase in processing capacity. The system automates the feeding task but does not mean the entire recycling line operates without personnel; operators may still be needed for inspection, maintenance and handling abnormal conditions.
The six-axis intelligent robotic feeding upgrade gives recycling plants another option when incoming solar panels are not consistently aligned. Frame-type automatic feeding may remain suitable for neatly stacked panels, while robotic feeding can help reduce manual repositioning when panel positions vary.
DOING ECO selects equipment configurations according to incoming-panel conditions, target capacity and workshop layout. Contact DOING ECO to discuss your solar panel specifications, feeding requirements and target processing capacity.
Potentially, yes. Compatibility depends on the existing equipment configuration, line layout and processing capacity, so an assessment is required before modification.
Routine maintenance may include checking and cleaning suction cups and air lines, lubricating moving joints as specified, and cleaning or checking the vision system according to the equipment maintenance requirements.
